The history of the ice cream cone


Have you ever experience sitting in a tranquil park on a hot summer day just eating an ice cream cone and you asked yourself, “Oh, I wonder how the world came to have ice cream"? Maybe you never asked that question but ice cream has a pretty interesting history.
We all know that fantastic ice cream has been there in the market since we were very little kids. However the actual invention of our favorite ice cream recipe dates as far back into the ancient history of the world that it is so difficult to say when ice cream actually came into existence.
The most early documented history of a kind of treat that utilized a combination of milk and ice goes as far back as King Tang in China who tried concocting with the treat around 618 AD.
While that was not really the ice cream that we know it as of the moment, it is observed that Marco Polo learned of the kind of this treat and transmitted it back to the western world with him.
However that is the kind of myth since there is no real historical documentation or actual evidence to back that kind of interesting story, just pure anecdotal evidence. It simply makes a good story of a certain origin when you are feasting over an ice cream around the swimming pool right after playing the pool game called Marco Polo.
By hook or crook, the gastronomic treat for ice cream did catch on in Europe between the centuries of 1600 and 1800 since there are a lot of cook books with variations on the strategy for making the treat both England and France. In the year 1776, the very first ice cream parlor was formally opened in New York.
The discovery of the hand-cranked churn by Nancy Johnson was the initial break through that pave the way to the ability to design ice cream in big enough quantities to sell it as a business.
In the year 1847 her patent was purchased by a kitchen wholesale supplier in the state of Philadelphia and by the year 1851 the first mass production of ice cream ensued when a diary farmer in rustic Baltimore realized that he could sell a lot more cream from his beloved cows for a lot higher prices by just utilizing it to make ice cream.
However it was not until the early 1900s when the ice cream cone was really invented. The chronicle showed that a fellow by the name of Italo Marchiony simply wanted to sell ice cream on the busy streets of New York just from his cart.
However the problem arose when a lot of people would walk off or break the glasses that he used in his business. So he came up with the idea of a waffle cone to protect his dishes in this ice cream business. It was so much of a big hit in the streets of New York and he patented the waffle cone in 1903.
As for the first ice cream scoop the story is this: A person by the name of Alfred L. Cralle was a young inventor residing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA discovered the need for a convenient yet effective way to dispense ice cream. He secured for a patent for his invention to protect his rights which is named as an Ice Cream Mold and Disher on February 2, 1897.
From then on, his invention would be popularized as the ice cream scoop. It became a bestseller in a lot of dining places. It gradually went on to invade hundreds of household in the US. Said ice cream scoop was originally intended to avoid the sticking out of the ice cream when mining it out.  Cralle’s invention was durable, solid, practical, inexpensive and very successful. Up to this very day, said ice cream implement is being utilized by millions of household and patrons of ice cream.
It was easy to utilize with one hand, and had gotten rid of the need for two utensils when serving ice cream. His elementary style could be manufactured in a wide array of sizes and shapes for instance the mounds, cones and cylinders. This design is still being utilized in the manufacture of ice cream scoops today.
